After Colombo's three-game win streak, one would have thought he was going to walk away with the belt this year. Not so said Tom Terbrock in week four.
Not only did Terbrock destroy the competition that week with a 1250 point game, but he dominated every possible category and stat there was; he, in one week, erased all the work Colombo did in THREE weeks, giving him the belt point lead over all.
The week four match was so dominating, that a Colombo win in match five still only gives Colombo second place thus far, although a bit closer than the week before.
If there is one thing Terbrock can do, it's having a dominant game. As the Halfwits Record book (now up on BattleOfTheHalfwits.com) will show you, Terbrock has scored 1000+ points in a game 6 times in his career and he has answered 25 or more questions 10 times. He also can get into good groves, having won 3+ games in a row 7 times. These feats are pretty rare in the realm of Halfwits. How rare you ask? Well these three things have happened a combined 32 times. There have been a total of 445 players in the game, so thats only 7% of the time will someone make achieve of these milestones. Of those 32 times, Terbrock has achieved a milestone 23 times out of 131 chances, leaving the remaining crew a measly 9 out of 314.
So, in theory, Colombo can continue to win, but so long as Terbrock has an occasional BIG win, he's still in it.
Will this year's theme be a battle of quantity versus quality? Stay tuned!
